Danessa M. Bolling, LMSW, LCDC, is a mental and behavioral health professional with 20 years’ experience in the healing arts. She is employed full time with the Michael E. Debakey V.A. Medical Center, Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Program and is the founder of D.I.V.A Uprising Inc, She specializes in treating addiction, mental illness and behavioral dysfunction. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Social Science with a concentration in history and sociology from The University of Houston Downtown and her Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in Health and Behavioral Health from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work at the central campus. 

In the state of Texas, she holds two clinical licenses as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). She has also been trained and certified as a Community Health Worker. 

Ms. Bolling has been certified in Mental Health First Aid and is a part of the Disaster Emergency Medical Personnel for the local Veterans Administration. Currently she is an advanced Somatic Experiencing Practitioner student from Generation 2 Houston training cohort in Houston, TX and has served as an assistant with the Generation 3 cohort in Houston, TX. 

Outside of her professional work Ms. Bs. Bolling is an Ambassador for Oldways Preservation Trust which is a non-profit organization based in Boston, Massachusetts that seeks to educate the community on improving health outcomes by tapping into their heritage and has been an instructor for their A Taste of African Heritage Cooking Class program since 2013. She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star- Ujima #1149 where she serves in the role of Worthy Matron. In her service to her church family at St. John’s Downtown she is active in the Mosaic Women’s Ministry, has developed curriculum for and taught life skills education for the Path of Freedom Ministry and is a leader of the Health and Wholeness Ministry educating her church family on developing healthier eating and exercise habits. She has served as a consultant for Bread of Life Inc and is a dedicated volunteer. Her life quote and mission is taken from Mohandas (Mahatma) Ghandi- “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
