Karen is a dietitian and diabetes educator at the Asian American Diabetes Initiative of Joslin Diabetes Center. Originally from Hong Kong, she understands the cultural diﬀerences in Asia and the United States. She creates educational materials and provides nutrition recommendations to the patients in the Asian Clinic that can be easily adapted to their culture. She is passionate about helping Asian Americans to integrate healthy and enjoyable meals into their daily meal plans for better health. She is also involved in research to ﬁnd better ways in helping Asian Americans in preventing and managing diabetes. In addition, she shares her experiences in providing care for Asians and Asian Americans with other healthcare professionals from around the world.
