Sautéed Bosc Pears with Toasted Walnuts

This simple fruit dessert combines sweet pears and crunchy walnuts with cinnamon and spices. The cut pears are visually impressive and they taste great, for minimal effort in the kitchen. Serve it over frozen yogurt or a piece of cheese for a savory twist.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons salted butter

¼ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground allspice

6 Bosc pears, peeled, cored and quartered

Juice of ½ lemon

½ cup chopped, toasted walnuts

Instructions

  1. To prepare the pears, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in spices and cook for 30 seconds or until aromatic. 
  2. Add pears and cook for 15 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently. Stir in lemon juice. Serve with yogurt or cheese and top with walnuts.
