Veneto: Cison di Valmarino, Venice, and Verona, Italy

Whether you love being close to the sea, the mountains or the plains, or whether you prefer historic cities, or rural vineyard views, the Veneto offers something for everyone. We started our week up in the mountains, in the charming very small village of Cison di Valmarino, with a stay in a castle, now a hotel. We’re also able to experience an afternoon and evening in one of the great houses of Northern Italy— Casagrande—the seat of the Brandolini family. A visit to Veneto isn’t complete without at least a day in Venice. We’ll first saw Venice from the water, giving a sense of the city with a boat ride around the city We finished our week in Verona — a very walkable city, with the romance of Romeo and Juliet, a world-famous summer opera festival, a Roman arena, and an ancient market square, still vibrant.
