    Useful, not too rigid. My oncologist suggested I follow a Mediterranean diet, including plenty of fish. The oncologist is at odds with my PCP who wants me to follow a plant-based diet. Fortunately I really like fish, but still follow mostly plant-based diet. The guide is useful, but we adapt it to fit what we have available in fresh and frozen food.

Terrific recipes; wonderful illustrations; inspiring, versatile menu plan that is simple to follow or adapt. The only think that would make it better would be a coil binding.

    This is a welcome addition on several levels. First, it’s simple. The recipes are not at all complicated, and they can generally be prepared quickly. Second, it uses ingredients that aren’t out of the ordinary (for the most part). Lots of things are ones you already have in a cabinet or pantry. Third, there’s variety. Don’t like something? That’s OK, as there are lots of alternatives on other days that are tasty. Fourth, it’s not dictatorial. Again, if you don’t like something, substitute or skip. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Lastly, and perhaps most important, it stimulates your thinking to go beyond what’s presented. Excellent little book.

    Under a 100 pages, this book is a gem! In descending order, delicious recipes, simple to prepare, easy to incorporate a few “new spices” into my repertoire, some suggestions on how to use the leftovers. It offers daily ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner too. I am a family of one; most recipes are for four servings. However, love having leftovers or freeze for a future date to enjoy. Great way to “start” with a Mediterranean lifestyle.
