Cyprus: Nicosia, Limassol, and Paphos

Travellers were immersed into the heart of Mediterranean lifestyle and cuisine on this 7-day foodie’s tour of Cyprus – from Nicosia to Limassol to Paphos! Called Aphrodite’s Island, Cyprus offers travelers beautiful beaches, ancient historical sites, seaside tavernas, and plenty of delicious culinary traditions.

  • Cooking classes with Chefs Ana and Cassie, both followed by a dinner
  • Market tour in Nicosia, with a cooking demonstration and lunch at the home of a Cypriot cookbook author and television personality
  • Visit to the Cathedral of St John and the market in Nicosia
  • Visit to Nicosia’s Cypru Museum featuring treasures from the Stone Age and Bronze Age civilizations through the late Roman Empire
  • Travel to the Tseri Village to enjoy the traditional Kleftiko goat, slow-baked in the closed, wood-fired oven at Klatsimpampas Taverna
  • Visit to Nicosia’s Handicrafts Center, where traditional folk art and crafts are produced (embroidery and lace making, tapestry, weaving, basketry, woodcarving, pottery, metalwork leather, and garment making)
  • Walking tour of Limossol
  • Guided tour of the ancient city kingdom of Kourion, a world-class archaeological site
  • Winery visit with tasting, followed by lunch at Apokryfo, a hotel and restaurant in the mountains
  • Guided visit to a goat farm producing halloumi, as well as to learn from a producer of carob
  • A visit and seafood lunch in Paphos, especially to to see the western end of the island and visit the spectacular UNESCO Heritage archaeological site in Paphos
  • Specially created meals to illustrate the delicious cuisine of Cyprus
