Caroline is the Senior Director of Operations for Oldways and heads up the Oldways Whole Grains Council, overseeing the Whole Grain Stamp certification program and organizing the WGC’s educational and promotional activities. She chairs the International Whole Grain Initiative’s governing board, as well as the WGI’s working group on Communications & Partnerships.
Caroline joined Oldways in 2016 after completing her MS in Agriculture, Food, and Environment from the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Prior to attending Tufts, she spent eight years working for Whole Foods Market, where she led a bakery and cheese department. It was there that she developed a passion for food and cooking. She became increasingly interested in the food system as a whole and its impact on both nutrition and environmental sustainability, leading her to pursue graduate study in these fields at Tufts.
Before coming to Boston, Caroline earned her BA in Philosophy from Smith College and spent time studying and traveling in India. Caroline has two young children and spends much of her spare time preparing and enjoying meals with her family.
