Decades of research show that whole grains are healthy and are linked with a reduced risk of many diseases like heart disease, stroke, and colorectal cancer. But with all of the whole grain choices available today, how do you know which ones are supported by the evidence? In this webinar, Dr. Nicola McKeown will give a behind-the-scenes tour of the research methodology in the biggest and most influential whole grain nutrition studies, putting these findings in the context of nutrition research as a whole. Dr. McKeown will then show participants how to apply these findings to real world choices at the kitchen table and how to best leverage grain foods to improve public health. Additionally, Dr. McKeown will be joined by Kelly LeBlanc, MLA, RD, LDN who will help translate the research into easy-to-understand consumer messages, so that dietitians can direct their patients toward evidence-based whole grains.
