Deitra Dennis is a registered nurse and certified health coach in Georgia. She received her health coach certification through the National Society of Health Coaches. She also received a certification as a Food for Life Instructor, an award-winning Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) program designed by physicians, nurses, and registered dietitians that offers cancer, diabetes, weight management, employee wellness, and kids classes that focus on the lifesaving effects of healthful eating.

Deitra is founder of Full Circle Health Coaching LLC, a wellness solution offering evidence-based services that specializes in disease prevention in women of color.

In 2015, Deitra was in search of expanding her services to include both healthy cooking and cultural traditions. A Taste of African Heritage (ATOAH) Cooking Program of Oldways Preservative Trust was the answer that aligned with Deitra’s expectations. As an instructor of a series of cooking classes, there is a sense of fulfillment when participants say that they learned so much about the African heritage foodways and that each dish was delicious.

Deitra was overjoyed in 2017 to be offered a position as an Ambassador of the African Heritage and Health Program. The position as Ambassador will continue to further Deitra’s mission to guide, educate and empower the community to prevent and reverse chronic diseases through adopting cultural traditions of plant based eating and practicing lifestyle behavior change skills.
