Oldways 5th annual Supermarket Dietitian Leadership Symposium, “Healthy Plates, Healthy Planet,” coordinated in partnership with Barbara Ruhs, MS, RD, LDN, was held March 22-24, 2015 at The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort and Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Florida. Tackling some of the country’s major public health issues, this event encouraged discussions and probed for actionable solutions that can influence shoppers and promote healthy and sustainable food choices. The goal was to help supermarket dietitians drive sales of better-for-you food choices, and provide them with the tools, skills, and knowledge to maximize their impact and influence in the retail environment.
