Danessa M. Bolling, LMSW, LCDC, is a mental and behavioral health professional with 21 years’ experience in the healing arts. She is employed full time with the Michael E. Debakey V.A. Medical Center, Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Program and is the founder of D.I.V.A Uprising Inc, She specializes in treating addiction, mental illness and behavioral dysfunction. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Social Science with a concentration in history and sociology from The University of Houston Downtown and her Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in Health and Behavioral Health from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work at the central campus. 

In the state of Texas, she holds two clinical licenses as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). She has also been trained and certified as a Community Health Worker. 

Ms. Bolling has been certified in Mental Health First Aid and is a part of the Disaster Emergency Medical Personnel for the local Veterans Administration. Currently she is an advanced Somatic Experiencing Practitioner student from Generation 2 Houston training cohort in Houston, TX and has served as an assistant with the Generation 3 cohort in Houston, TX. 

Outside of her professional work Ms. Bolling has been an Ambassador/Teacher for Oldways Preservation Trust since 2012 and embraces every opportunity to educate the community on improving health outcomes by tapping into their heritage.. She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star- Queen Ujima #001 where she serves in the role of Worthy Matron. In her service to the community she is active in causes related to mental health, women’s issues and  has developed curriculum for and taught life skills education for those returning to the community after incarceration and is a leading conversations on Health and Whole Person Wellness. She has served as a consultant for various non profits and is a dedicated volunteer in the community.
